Might get one and i am wondering what they need to survive and for me to get the best out of one. heard they can be really agressive and have varied personality.

Mine turned aggressive once it reached 8-9 inches. They tend to be nasty tempered. You could try some catfish and even bichirs but don't be surprised if they turn up dead one day. They need plenty of pipes, driftwoods and rocks to evade attacks.

they bite you when you feed them or just when your cleaning the tank?

he bites me at both times, i sold him b/c he got to big for the tank,tank size:48x16x12 it was 1 year ago O_O now i bought a 6 inch 1 so yea its in a 160 gallon tank with a commun

i'm going to start with a 2"-3" one in a 75 gallon with a 12" senegal, 5" ornate bichir, and a clown knife. the second these fish hit the 18"-19" mark, i'm buying bigger tank. i will most likely sell/give away the ck.

yea, that would be best for the fish, but they do turn very limberly, so ill say around 16"-18" is when i should buy a larger tank.
