I should have known better but the evil deed is done. The Jar and the livingstonii cichlid got along fine until the cichlid starting eating his shrimp. What should I do with the African. I think it is time euthanize it.

Get those two apart, I hope the African makes it.

You need a hospital tank for that guy. Raise the temp and add some salt. Hope he makes it.

Wow that sucks, ya just never can tell when the jars gonna turn. The cichlids a tough fish I'm sure he'll heal up fine, to bad about the eye though.

oh jeeez... tat's a nasty wound... sorry on uR cichlid... but yea live wif it... Jars are known 2 be god damned temperamental... i'd suggestion seperating the cichlid if u dun want anymore fatalities... Jar's are known 2 kill juz 4 the sake of killing...

i would not give up on it..i would put it in a hospital tank ..little antibiotic and heat up and salt and give it a chance.. they are tough.. at least a few days to see how it responds.. sorry !!:( That is a beautiful jar..but they are unpredictable ..
