My Jar is around 7 inches now and I finally decided to starve him and it worked out great... He is now eating krill as we speak... What else can I try? Probably those Hikari sticks I saw with a big *** arrow on the package! Anything else?

chopped shrimp, beefheart, earthworms, smelt ( I feed a LOT of smelt because it's cheap), chopped fish fillets, cichlid pellets (cheaper than aro sticks).

Another reason to go with smelt is that it can be stuffed with pellets:)

Try to get it on pellets, generally if a fish eats pellets it will also eat anything else that floats on the surface.

hikari is horrible ,,, it made my water turn brown ...took me several water changes and new food to clean up that mess... stick with shrimp or krill
Are you kidding me? You must have been over feeding... I find krill to cloud the water more then hikari pellets... It also depends on what type of fish is eating them... Some fish will just swollow them whole and others like my messy oscar chew on them and dispel a lot through their gills.:irked:

My black eats hikari pellets...He will make a mess of them when they are too hard and he is trying to get everything in his mouth before the peacock bass. My niger shovelnose and p-bass do a great job of cleaning up though.

ive got my jar on commercial farm pellets its like steroids he is outgrowing my asn aro thats twice his age. good stuff but you will have to give it a varied diet i give the occasional market prawns, frogs and super-worm.
