bought a 4-5 inch jar about a month and a half ago. he was first put into a 55 with two small plecos and later on a added a L200. He killed the two small plecos 1".
I was feeding him bloodworms and night crawlers cut up small.
Since then i moved him to my 90 gallon because the 55 was being taken down because of a 210 i was in the process of setting up. In there were a oscar common pleco pike cichlid and i put the l200 in there at the same time.
In there he didnt really eat to much could have been because he was scared of the other fish. they did charge him but he got out of the way pretty easily.
Once my 210gallon was set up i moved him into there and hes been in there for about 2 weeks. I cycled the fish tank with seachem stability and shook the bottle religiously filling a 25ml measuring cup then shaking again til its milky white with bubbles.
He isnt much of a eater he ate alot more in the 55g.
i feed him a variety of food:tilapia cut up,tiger prawns cut up, night crawlers cut up, hikari food sticks broken in half, frozen blood worms thawed a bit, Frozen krill thawed a bit break heads off, i even put in a frog that was way to big for him but figured he might pick at it.
Oscar was happy to eat the frog lol.
Anyways he just appears to be less aggressive my only reason for this is that in the 55g he saw alot more people and wasnt so scared of everyone. It was upstairs and was in the living room. Now in the 210 he pretty much only sees me 2-3 times a day when i feed him and also some times when i sit in front of him to watch. Its in the basement an no where near as much traffic also the lights are off alot of the time. Could this be a reason? Him being skiddish seems normal for they are famous for it but him not eatting seems to cause me to ponder why lol.
Any thoughts sorry for the long ass story

anybody?

i think so because when i had my jardini in my living room it never speeded off be right when i got him in to the tank in my room and i come by to feed it , it speeeds off so quick and its hard to see its beauty

alright just what i thought. It seemed normal... but didnt want it to be something that i was doing wrong

i've never done this but, one of my friends did...he cut up some market shrimp and put some garlic in and mixed it all together, he did it with cichlid, and the scent of garlic really gets them to jump at it.

hmm ill have to try it hah. might make the catfish i have go crazy who knows i have alot of tiger prawns that i cut up into cubes

Careful with the krill. He's still a a baby. he should eat bugs. Crickets. Flies. I never had a jar. And I've killed some silvers, but as they say "If you wanna make an omlette, you gotta break some eggs." er....uh.. yeah. Well, at least stay away from the FD krill.

kk cause i did see a half digested peice of krill that i assume he spat out. i will not feed him any.

lol k nvm on the not feeding i guess starving him for a day made him want to eat. ate a huge piece of tiger prawn. all good.
He was actually waiting at the glass
