Hey guys i did a search and found some good info advice on pellet training. wanted to know if anyone had an update method on pellet training.

My Jardini wont eat pellets I drop a few of them in the tank and he chews them and then spits them out. he would go down to the bottom for the sinking pellets i give for my TSN(not eating also) and will chew them up for him and spit them out.

Also, do I clean the tank after the aro spits out the food?? it will build ammonia in the tank if I leave the food in there??

i've given him feeders which he eats and freeze dried krill which he also eats. any help would be great. thanks in advance guys...

Stop the feeders since its eating krill. Then slowing start with shrimp, talipia and pellets. The most important thing is stop feeding the feeder fish.

Agree with above posters. How big is your jardini? I got mine pellet trained by breaking them in half, making it easier to eat. He now eats whole pellets no problem.

if i dont feed feeder the TSN in the tank will starve to death as he doesnt eat either.

You gonna have to give us more information. What size tank and what kind of fish do you have. TSN are not picky eater so they should not be on feeder only diet either.

Your jardini will NEVER convert to pellets when feeders keep being fed to the tank. Stop the feeders altogether and start out with freshwater fish fillets and any kind of frozen raw shrimps that you can find at grocery stores. I never have TSN but I think it should have no problem feeding on fish fillets and shrimps.

Feed only pellets nothing else. If the fish is healthy, it will eventually get hungry enoungh to eat the pellets. You just can't give in.

i have a 9" jardini and a 9" TSN. planning to add a flagtail soon. the tank is currently 55 gallons.
