what ph conditions can a jardini SURVIVE in but not suffer. my water is hard with ph of 8.6. i dont need it to thrive just survive and not live a painful life.

id say at least 7.5

Either buy a larger tank or rehome it. Why put it in conditions that won't allow it to thrive? That's like putting you in a jail cell and feeding you one slice of bread a day- you'd survive.

my ph is really high as well- 8.2:WHOA: but all of my fish as thriving including my small jar. once acclimated properly aros can do well in most any ph that isnt super extreme either way. its fluctuations in ph that cause problems.

Actual PH isn't NEARLY as important as Ph staying stable. Most fish can adapt to almost any PH it just needs to not change! 8.6 is awful high but I'd say go for it.

what could cause my ph to jump. because my water is hard from the tap plus i got rocks for my malawi set up and my jars in that tank. i got a scale so i can see any instant changes so no big deal
