I went to one of my many LFS and I asked him about a jardnini, he said he can get me a 2" jardini for 40 bucks, I was wondering if this is a good deal, and he also said he can get me a 6"blue aro for 350 bucks wondering if that is a good deal also.

You need to be VERY careful with any arow in the 2" rage as they are quite delicate and have a high mortality rate at that age. They should be kept in a tank alone until they hit the 6" mark or above. Personally I prefur a foot long although jars are a bit tougher.

The 'blue' is a slight color morph of the black in the same way the 'pink' is in the silvers. Hardly worth that much extra money. $150.00 to $200.00 is a more sane price.

forty is pretty fair I paid 80 for mine :(

where are you from in nor cal? i got my 5" jar for $40, darker (black) than any small jar i have seen. i has a greenish shine when it swims around. beautiful little guy, trying to get him on pellet right now.

Well considering you paid 45 bucks for a silver aro, the jardini would be a bargain.

$40 for a Jar is a pretty good price ..i got mine for $44 at 3"

$350 for a 6" black? insane price.....$299 for a 12"+ here in Hawaii

I've never heard of a 6" black. I know they exist, lol, but I've never seen one for sale.

general consensus (i agree):
jar: ok
blue: way too much

whree i am from, i paid 500 for a jardinii. in new zealand, we dont get many of them. in the last 5 years i think only about 15 came into the country, you can probably literally count with two hands how many jardinii is in the country here! what the fu** is a blue aro? blue base asian aro? just curious:D

well, yeah, the minimum wage here is 11.25 per hour, so you see the comparison. an asian aro here is 2000 starting upwards of 9000 dollars!:D
to compare, 1 nz dollar is about 70 cents us
so if jars here were 40$ each..... I would have ten, literally
