Jardini question

Saw a Jardini Aro for sale at LFS today, was interested in buying but it was sitting on the bottom of the tank. The sales person said this is common behaviour. I know my Silver is never stationary at the bottom of the tank the only time i see him down there is if he follows a rosy red. From what i understand aro's tend to stay close to the surface. Anyways i thought i would ask the experts before i spent 60 plus dollars on this fish.

The Australian Arowanas tend to wander to lower levels of the tank more than other types of arowanas. My Leichardti which is the southern species ,will stay close to the bottom when i am doing my tank maintenance.
Jardini and more so Leichardti are suppose to be more skittish so this may also explain why he is remaining at the bottom stationary.

Is he in the tank on his own??

Ask them to throw some food in and see how he reacts.
