Hey guys, just a question. My small 4-5 ish Jardini has been eating hikari food sticks for about...2 weeks now. I break em into little pieces and it takes them. Makes a huge mess too chomping away at them but the pleco takes care of that. It actually refused hikari sticks for awhile but my black arowana somehow got it to try and now I guess it likes them. So I've been wondering if I started it on the food sticks too early, since everyone seems to feed them blood worms when they're this small... On another note, I tried giving it some bloodworms as a treat yesterday and it ignored them... would this be bad?

i agrea it is perfectly fine
they are sorta messy eaters
i feed mine super worms and crickets aswell he loves em also mine love earth worms
hikari sticks are the only pellet he wopuld ever eat but thats just my fish ...its good to hear you have it on pellets instead of feaders for sure though
have a good one

i thinks its better to get get them on pellets asap healthier for them

That's good to hear, but any reason why it doesn't go for blood worms anymore D=. I have 2 more x32 trays in my fridge. Wasted.

Save them, once your aros are 9-10" they will gulp down semi defrosted cubes in a single bite.

i'd try to ask for an exchange at the LFS that you got them from, because i'm cheap. blood worms are needed only for baby (2"-4") aro's to get them start eating, IMO.
