you guys are probably sick of answering this question... i have a 125, i have 4 dats, I was interested in a jardini... how big do they grow, i've gotten conflicted information online and in books and from my lfs... is it ok to have one in a 125 gal. tank? I have plenty of open water up top and i only want 1. i need some consistant answers cuz im hearing that 125 is too small for one by itself and that i can hold one in a 125 with my four baby dats.... and that they get from 2 feet in length to 4 feet... too many different answers. the fish im interested in is about 6 inches long now.

125G will be fine for the Jardini when it's a juvenile, but you will definately have to upgrade once it starts getting a little bigger. It also depends on the width of your tank as adults need a lot of room to turn in (apparently their bodies are less flexible than other aros) and they get BIG ... up to 90cm (thats 3').

Mine is in a 88G (3'x2'x2') at the moment cos he's still little - only 10". I'm gonna upgrade to a 6'x2.5'x2' (2.5 feet wide) as soon as I move to a bigger place which will be in about 6 months.

Your Jardini will probably survive in a smaller tank, but his growth will be stunted and he'll be stressed out. No worries though ... its always an excuse to get another tank! :D

thank you, you and rallyman gave the same advice... i wish i could fit a bigger tank somewhere... oh well, that kind of bursts my bubble, im gonna hafta go with something else, but eventually, i will get a bigger tank specifically for a jardini.
