I just put a jardini on hold today(gonna get it next week) and I was just wondering what a safe size to buy these is I hear a lot of talk about safe lengths to buy fish to make sure that they are stable enough. This one is about 3 in. maybe 4in.

jar are stable at about any size given they dont have a yolk sack on them

they should still be with dad if they still have the yolk sack

i think you are refering to the peacock bass

they are unstable at under 5 inches

very delicate creatures at that age

Jardini are an overall tough fish at pretty much any size. Never knew that about P bass. Maybe thats why my little ones never live more then 10 hrs when I get them.

It will be ok! mine was that size !! Hes doing fine!!! 14'' now!!

At 4" should be okay but i really think that 5" would really be better, just to be on the safe side, And there on they are tough. But just be sure you don't put him in with other larger aggressive fishes!

You wont need to worry about your jar, thy are tough little critters!
I got mine last week at about 3" he is beating up the poor archer fish in the tank with him who is about 4", yeah im proud of the jar but now i have to separate them. But yeah jar=strong!
