So I have a foot long jardini shipped to me. I put him in the tank yesterday. He was swimming just fine. At the end of the day I turned the lights off and noticed he immediately started to swim with a tilt. I come to see today with or without the lights on. This seem to stick in his behavior. Alos he only does this slight tilt twards the viewing area of the tank. Even if I am not in his sight. Anyone? Help? Water params are great. I have plenty of experience with arowanas but never seen this before.

The fish is stressed
Let him be

I have him in a 500 gallon 8x3x3 foot tank now. he was in a 75 gallon...Im just letting him get used to the area. seems ok. Scales and body looks nice just wierd and skittish

currently the jardini is still acting the same. sideways. but now he is eatting krill

Does light enter the side of the tank?

I have had fish orient themselves to have their back towards the light before which caused them to be angled similar to what you are describing

Just the lights from the shop enter viewing area . Not very bright.

It is the angle of the light. If you put a light at the center of the top you will see him orient to that.
i did move the light over time...now its center. Ill look a him tomorrow to see

Well he is eatting krill. Everyday. But still kinda sideways and only toward the front of thetank

Possibly due to light placement. Perhaps when it was in its original tank.

Give it sometime to get used to the new environment.
