Jardini tail rot??

Hi I have a Jardini that has either a fungus or tail rot? I am not sure what to do. I have tried just keeping water super clean and it looked worse so three days ago started Melafix. Not sure if it is helping. He is very agitated by it. Here are two pictures. Thank you

I personally would add some salt doesn't look like fungus. Are there any tankmates?

I have been adding aquarium salt at 1/4 teaspoon per gallon. No tank mates, has been eating nightcrawlers. Nitrates got up to 60, but got them down to 5-10.

Ok the API FUNGUS CURE is the other alternative but will probably kill off some beneficial bacteria.

Okay, I will give this a little more time to see if there is improvement. If not I will try something for fungus.

Thank you, I will test water when I go back to my shop. I don't want water quality to get bad while treating the tank.
