So I have a tank with two common wolves. 2 raphael cats a "marbled gar" and a common pleco. The pleco is 9in. The wolves are 4 and 6in and the cats are 5 inches. I am looking at a jardini that is 5 inches. I have plenty of rocks and plants. Is a jardini suitable for this set up? Or would it go to the bottom just to kill

If a Jardini wanted to kill it's tank mates, it would have no problem swimming down and chasing down it's victims.

Only if all you want to have left is the jardini. They are very mean when they around 6-7" . Maybe if the tank is huge it may work. Mine can live with nothing not even plecos. Have tried my almost ft.long wolf with my jar @ 1 ft no go . Even my lugubris pike couldnt hold up to him. You would be getter or getting a silver around 1 ft better temperment but can hold their own.

I had a silver a while back but the problem in PA, at least where I am, is they are all bred and I haven't heard of anyone not having drop eye issues. And my tank isn't quite large enough for a silver :( my wolves are mean though. Sadly they ate a 7in tigrinis the other day. I wish I could have put them in fishie time-out

The problem i think you will have is wolves are not as fast or nimble as a jar. Jardini also use the whole tank unlike black and silver thst more.or less stay in the upper half. The dropeye problem is common everywhere with silvers. Im in Va and have owned several over the years everyone including my current one have had dropeye in at least one eye.

Pics of what? My wolves are hiding at the moment and gar just started eating again. Haha once I get a lighting issue resolved I will give some

And yeah. I get that about the drop eye. I know it isn't my fault but it makes me feel responsible for it regardless. Although I do a 50-60 gallon change throughout the week I wanted to try a jardini but perhaps I will consider trying another top living prefator

Ya know the african pike would be a cool fish since you like oddballs. So long as the wolves dont want another snack. Good luck though as im shure you already know they can be hard on tankmates.

the arowana would be fine... the only thing i would be concerned about would
be when the wolf fish get a little bigger they might bully.. but the are would be fine :)

jardinis are vicious. i had 1 from 5 inches. when it hit the 10 inch mark, it began a killing spree.. it would swim back n forth and intimidate all my fishes.
