I am trying to avoid the huge tank with one fish. I was thinking about a planted 240 with a lot of loaches and cats with one jardini. I want to build an elaborate system of rock and driftwood in the tank to accomplish this. Sound like a good plan?

Sounds awesome man, I just wouldn't use any driftwood that reaches to high into the water level so it wont get into the Jardini's way... And live plants are great but depending on what type of cats you get, they might just tare them up. Also you will want a cat that is well armored to keep the jardini from just picking them off... and yes jars can eat off of the bottom... mine picks earthworms off the bottom, and he loves them!
