what are some good Jardini tankmates for a 160?

What are the dimensions of the 160? What size is the jar?

the dimension are 72" long by 22" wide by 24" high and the Jar is about 3-5"

Most likely your jar will not be able to have any tank mates once it gets to about 10". At that size they are know to become very aggressive a destroy most tankmates. I would not add any fish you plan on keeping as tankmates, plus eventually your jar will out grow that tank you have him in.

what big fish would you put in the 160 besides a jar

The jar will be fine for a couple years but eventually is going to get at least 30" long, so no room to turn around in you tank. As for fish that would work well for your tank, how do you like cichlids? There is a very large variety of central/south American cichlids that will get 12-16" in length and be perfect for your tank.

i was told by my trusted LFS not petsmart that they had kept several in a 150 and they were fine and bakc to my other point so many people put SIlvers in a 55 am i really being that mean by putting a smaller Jar in a 150?
just asking
not trying to be mean

I told you my opinion, keep the jardini. In a couple years if you couldn't care less for the well being of the jardini, you will keep it crammed in that tank of yours. Otherwise you'll then see the tank is to small and will find other housing options.

As for the silvers in the 55g. You really think it's right justifying your wrong doing by comparing to others wrong doings?

BTW your trusted LFS main goal is to sell you fish, food, etc. So most will just tell you what you want to hear. Simply put a 30" long fish will not do well in a 22" wide tank.

would it be ok to put my jar in with a green terror, 2 oscars, a bichir and convict? mines about 3 inches too. the other fish are slightly bigger but the jar will outgrow them in no time.

hey bderick im not about hurting fish but i was just wondering cause when it gets too big i will be happy to get it a new home thanx for the info
