I've been going around shops looking at arowanas and i noticed that there are many different color variations... anybody know why and which variations are best?... thanks... i have a 3 inch jardini right now and it's colors are a bit dark... :D

i have noticed that some have the black/blue coloration
while others have the yellow/orange. don't know what it is, and what they will look like when older but the black ones look cool.

yeah, the black ones are the best! :D.. i hope mine will become one...

here's mine, goldish green scales with pink cresent moon shapes capping each scale. The scales get darker a bluer towards the tail. The fins are a green that fade into a dark blue with yellow spots.... and yeah she cost 75 bucks at 6 inches....

here are some others pics I've found (not mine) of jars that look nothing like mine....

kool... thx for that...havnt seen those variations over here for sale... especially the really dark one...

maybe its also beacause most i have seen are around 2.5inchs long...lol

one question however... are your jardinis as skittish as they are over here when they start getting past the 6-7" mark? Ive owned 3 from really small and they are awsome, but then as they get older... eeeeeeesh!:irked:

darker background makes them look nice but if you get bored you can change to a white one and it'll make them lighter. i used to do that to my long lost jardini:(

When I was feeding mine wild caught Key West Pink shrimp, his color was a little darker. Pond raised shrimp and scallop do not have as much pigments.
