Hi everyone, I've been reading posts on this site for awhile but finally decided to make an account. I've heard a lot of mixed things about jars, some say they're insanely aggressive and some seem to be doing fine in community tanks, while others only attack fish that look similar/occupy the same part of the water column. Anyway, I'm hoping to house some black diamond rays in the future, in a tank about 96x48x30-36". I want an aro, but feel like I'd be pushing it if I got a silver or black, as I wouldn't want a 3.5 footer in a tank thats only 8x4, and, since I'm from the US, asian aros aren't an option. What do you guys think (especially those of you with personal experience) about a jardini with some rays in a tank this size? Thanks in advance for any input!

In my experience, jardini do really well with rays. I wouldn't put a large jardini with small ray pups or adult rays with a jardini smaller than 12", but as long as you can put them together at around the same size you should be fine.

If you'd like other fish to keep with the jar and rays, I've had luck with gar, bichirs, and silver dollars.
