yeah,yeah, i know its a gamble blah blah blah. i just want to know if tankmates with your jar has worked for YOU, not your friends or what you have read. it just seems like i read ALOT of threads where people succesfully have tankmates with their jars, and others who havent tried or even own jars post that its not possible(me included, have a 5"er). just am curious on the success rate, as i am going to try to place my jar with my other fish when hes big enough.

I wouldn't consider mine a success yet since I haven't had mine that long and it's not yet to the size where they're known to flip out, but mine has gone from 3-5" with different fish, including kuhli loaches, a botia striata, tinfoil barbs, black lancer cat and marbled goby and hasn't shown any aggression. I'm not sure what happened to the tetras I had in with it, but they were small.
I have 2 10" motoro rays and a 5" tiger dat with my 8" Jardini. It's been okay so far but I am going to place the Jardini in his own 200g tank in about a month when I get it and replace him with a HBRTG.
mine is about 10- 11" and it picked on my silver arow the same size fora little bit nothing bad tho, once i added a the del, a motro ray, and 2 mono pbass that are about same size as him, there all fine
i have my jar in with 4 big catties,2 big plecs,2 BN, and 1 bullrout, and its all fine. although i did have an archer fish in with him when i got him, but that didnt work out as he baches the archer up and made it sit in the corner.

until my jar died...still pissed...anyway...he was kept with large cichlids, cats, and plecos without any real problems. He harassed some of the cichlids now and then but was mostly peaceful. HOWEVER he was only around a foot in length.
I'm keeping a jar w/big clown loaches. But he's only 8" & they're 5-6". Time will tell I guess...waiting till he gets 12" to see if the demeanor changes.
both of my old jar's tried to kill all of there tankmates at some point in time. the only success I had, was with a huge 2foot albino pleco.
