I want to line the bottom and back of my 55 with this.how much should i expect to pay? Does it need co2? Does it grow fast? And any other important info if you have it

Assuming you are going to make your own matts you'll probably need 5-10 dollars worth of moss to start, the other materials should come in under 10 dollars. No C02 needed but dosing the tank will accelerate growth appreciably and lighten the color of the moss from a dark green to a light green. Read up on how to fertilize tanks for plants, you could use organic carbon and potassium along side a general propose fert will keep algae under control when jump starting the carpets. GOOGLE is your friend.

has anyone had a problem with having a matt of java moss covering the bottom of their tank? It seems like it might be harder to clean, and food that falls into it probably won't be eaten. Would this be counteracted by the fact that java moss helps filter the water? just wondering about this from a maintenance point of view

My biggest complaint would be that its constantly stuck to the intake on my filters
