If i take Driftwood, and tie java moss to it, will the java moss grow on the driftwood?

Setup: 29 gall 65 watt community tank

try poking it through a 1/4" thick disk of peat moss and tying the disk to the driftwood, most plants inc. j.moss won't actually root on dw but might envelope it. J.moss tends to beak down where your theads contact it, peat moss disk will prevent that.

I simply take a good sized peice and find a nice nook/cranny to wedge it into, and give it a few wrap-arounds... This does cause it to 'envelope' the driftwood, as well as grow upwards. My favorite is to take Java Fern with a fat root structure and wedge it in the loop-handle of a hand-made ceramic coffee cup. Looks great and makes good territory.

java moss if given light will grow outta control, my friend has a tank that was taken over by it he did have it by the window tho, prob didnt help

try tying with a little piece of fish line,it will cover the wood in time.Good starter plants are anubis,java fern, rotala indica,micro sword,nana round leaf,vallisneria.You have alittle more than 2 watts per gal so you should be able to keep pretty much any plant,depending on bulb type(one made in the right spectrum for plants).the question would be whats your substrate,will it support plants? is it deep enough for the roots? if your using a flourite or floramax at about 1 to 1.5 inches you should be able to support pretty much any plant.suggestion:invest in a nutrsfin CO2 system www.thatfishplace.com / $16.99,activator / $ 4.99.
