Laying down hardwood floor in living room this week so I empty out the 10g tank and put the small bullhead cat I had in it into my rhom tank thinking that I have plenty of hiding place in the tank and the cat move very fast so should be fine for like two days until the floor is done. WRONG~!!!!
went back to basement to check out the cat ~30 minutes later and I found its tail is gone, more than 1/4 but less than 1/3 of its overall length. (the cat is ~3" long) since the cat is already a goner I just left it in the tank to see how long it'll take my 4" rhom to finish it.
to my surprise that the cat was still alive yesterday morning with almost 1/3 to half of its body missing. Didn't go check out the tank until last evening and the cat is still gasping for air even with its stomach gone
. definitely the toughest fish I've seen so far. Eventually it died later last night but I still left the body in the tank to see how much will my rhom eat (I know I should've fished it out and I normally do, so back off and let me finish my story
).
went to check the fish this morning and a little more of the body is gone and it also took out the cat's head (most of it). I know the cat is still small but the skull should be pretty hard already. it rhom isn't that much larger than the cat, the jaw power is just incredible.
hope that won't be the case of my finger in the future when it get bigger.
ok, sorry for the long story, hope didn't bored it out.
here're some picture of what's left of the catfish, weak stomach please turn away. it ain't that pretty.

That catfish was a feeder that I was saving up for some caribes that I plan on getting, just now the rhom had it.
