I had a portion of my plastic center-brace crack (its NOT load bearing). So I was wondering if I could use a bit of JB WELD on it...stuff is GREAT!

In all likelehood, the center brace is load bearing, and keeps the glass from bowing out. If that is the case, just simply put a piece of acrylic under the brace and JB weld that into place. That would fix it and be plenty strong. You can get it at lowes or someplace similar. BTW, what size tank is it? If it's over 30" long, that brace probably is load bearing. Is it all glass, acrylic, or a home brew?

as long as its not in contact with the water.. jb weld is not known for being fish safe..

they do make aquarium epoxy most of my local fish stores have it.. i think even home depot has sticks of it..

It would work. Just keep it away from the water.

Get some thick acrylic cement. Like the thicker version of the type used to build tanks.

I heard someone on here suggest putting superglue on it, light the superglue on fire and its "welds" the plastic together...Ive never tried it but it makes sense

Well the tank is a 46 gallon oceanic bow front. And the center bar is so thin and wabbley, I really dont think its load bearing.
