After powering down and back up again the impeller won't start by itself. I've cleaned it, soaked it in vinegar. I can get it to spin after some coaxing.

But the way this filter works is that when you have the auto siphon kick in, it stops the impeller and starts it again. But even if I kick start it, it won't last through that cycle.

Any other things I can try to get this thing back to life? I really don't want to buy a new canister filter.

Hopefully, this video can be seen:

How does the magnet look on the impeller? Any scoring or chunks missing?

I had to look up the manual to see if there is a part number for a replacement impeller but didn't see one listed.

Have you double checked the electrical connections since this has a removable cord?

You could always try contacting JBJ for help or suggestions since they are in Calif. I also see this model filter has been discontinued which may make it difficult to find parts. I'd hate to order an impeller to find out that there is something else wrong with it electrically.

I did check power and saw that there was 24V. But I need to look again now that I see more of what is happening. A couple things to note, the housing the impeller is in is sealed - cannot access the cables. I can access them on the PCB side. There is feedback as well - the device knows the impeller isn't spinning because I get a series of LEDs that indicate a problem. None of the buttons work. When the impeller starts those LEDs go back to normal and the buttons work
I will contact JBJ but I feel like they will probably tell me "too bad so sad"
