my jd is the largest fish in the tank 7in long but when anyone goes near the tank he shoots across the tank and bangs into the glass then hides never did this before he used to follow people when you go near it water perameters normal is this something i should worry about

what size tank.
if he is alone u may need to buy dithers to calm him down.
if he is alone try giant danios or pictus catfish or syndontis catfish

For a big brute, Jacks are whimps! Mine was a beast, but was quite skittish at times.
I also found that they hide in caves a LOT more than most Cichlids too!

he is in a 72 bow front with four silver dollars a feather fin cat and a four inch convict he also has a large cave he hides in most of the time there is no aggression in the tank at all
