I got a Jag today and put it in a 29g quarantine/growout tank, and a while after I put the Jag in, the JD began biting and liplocking with it, the Jag seems to be ignoring the JD when it bites, and the JD seems to be winning the liplocks, I can't seperate them at the moment, Any Ideas on what to do? I was expecting the Jag to sort of beat the crap out of the JD.
PS they are both about 1.5"

Thankss

agreed with andri pogo, separate the tank and put plants etc in to break the line of sight so they ae not constantly eyeing each other from accross the tank, seems to have worked in my tank

cheers

Break up sight lines as all others expressed. how big are the tanks they will go into eventually? parachromis in general don't tend to fight fish that stand up to them consistently. but it will eventually outgrow the dempsey so they shouild have the pecking order in place by then.

take both fish out and change decor, then put the jag in first for about an hour or so to let him settle, then put the JD in and see whos kicking who.

Thanks for that
The Jack is the only one being aggressive the Jag kinda just ignores him
I'll try what Mbuna said then if that doesnt work put a divider in.
