My 9" JD (who is about 7 years old) is acting sluggish. Swimming appears to be somewhat listless, fins not extended, and he is not nearly as dark colored as usual. He is still feeding well, but now seems to miss his mark once or twice when striking at food. He does appear to be a little pinched around/on his stomach. Possibly "sunken belly"? I've heard of it, but never seen or diagnosed it.

He is in a 125, temp is 83, which is a little higher than normal (78). The tanks are in garage and recovering from the recent heatwave, during which my tank temps were in the upper 80s for about 4 days. He shares with a few slider turtles (as he has for the last 5 years). Filtered w/two Fluval 305s and a powerhead for increased flow, have a large airstone in there as well. Water parameters are tested weekly, and checked out again at lunch today.

Is it possibly an old age situation? I googled JD life expectancy, and I found everything from 8-15 years. Bottom line is this: what steps should I take? Any help appreciated...
