Recently I upgraded to a much larger tank (300 gallon from a 125). I took the opportunity to add some new cichlids to the mix since all territories would be erased. I had about a 7" female JD in the 125 with about an 8" Gold Sev and 5" Firemouth. When I setup the new tank I added a small Green Terror and another JD, this time a male at about 5 inches.

Over the last week my female JD's behavior has really changed. I haven't noticed her eating because she is way to busy sitting in a cave where she has dug out all of the sand clear to the bottom acrylic. Sometimes she'll come out and take off across the tank going down sideways every few inches and it almost looks like flashing, but a little different. She chases the Sev, Firemouth and Green Terror away from the cave if they get anywhere close. However she will just leave the cave if the pleco enters it.

Do you think she is wanting to spawn? The smaller male JD doesn't really act interested in her at all and never ventures to the cave. I've seen him follow her around a couple times but that is it. She doesn't seem sick but I'm concerned that she is not eating like she did before the new tank and new introductions. Yes, the new fish were quarantined before being added. Water parems are PH 7.4, ammonia and nitrite 0, and nitrate around 15 ppm.

Thanks!
