JD breeding advise

thinking my JDs are going to breed soon first time:nilly:. what do i need to know about them how they breed and their tendencies? tell me as much as you can. first time with fish breeding. i have a ten gallon with sponge filter if they need to be separated and a 55 gallon grow out tank. and if their tank mates are big problems.

they are very territorial, i would seperate them from the other fish

also you will need a flat rock, placed on a 30 - 45 degree angle for your jd to lay her eggs on, from then on she will almost constantly fan the eggs to stop debris settling on them while the male checks around for potential predators,
 
they keep digging nests has anyone had them lay on the bottom of the tank before

they will dig downinto the substrate yes mine did this too, dont think this is anything to do with breeding they just like to dig pits in the substrate so its wise to have quite a thick layer, dont construct anything which they may dig down next to, because it could fall over and crush the fish
