With all the talk of JD genes recently, I have a question as to if you can tell a BGJD/GGJD from a regular JD by looking? Attached is what I'm pondering. Does this JD have anything special in him? I ask because I have a couple hundred of his offspring now and am curious. Thanks in advance. Also will get better pics as the iPhone has not done this justice.

First, Congrats on the fry. And the Dempsey is a beauty.
But no, There is no way of telling if it carries the blue gene, Or gold gene.
Some experienced EBJD breeders say that they can tell.
But this is after years of breeding, And who can say how accurate they are.
They say the fry has a purple sheen to them. And I have seen this on my BGJDs.
But have not compared to regular JDs, Side by side.
