The Loisellei is a Male. He's about 4" and growing fast

The JD is about 8" and growing slow.

both fish look awesome. the dempsey will look even better once that dorsal heals up, which shouldn't take too long.

males have a blueish/gray irriedesences along thier back... nice fish, i had a male loiselle too ...real pretty fish just got too mean

Yes mine has that blue hue going along it's back.

Mine is a lovely fish, not too aggressive. It's 5 inches and gets chased around by a 6 inch oscar.

Did yours get particularly mean at a certain size? How was it at 5 inches?
