JD male or female

so i have a 8inch JD that i thought was female due to the blue spots only being on the lower jaw and gill plates. This guy at the pet store told me to look for red highlights on the top fin and to see if it was pointed on the end. he or she has both the fin is pointed with bright red on the tips. I was just curious if anyone had some feed back so i can find my JD a friend.

Its hard to tell but I would say female. Does it have more of the blue splotches on the bottom of its lower jaw?

There ya go, posted them for you.

I am unsure, typically with the solid blue on the edges of the gill plate I would say female, but something about the body-shap, head, and spangling says male to me.

That's a female, it looks just like mine. Here is a pic of mine for reference My male is to her left and you can see most of his jaw.
