JD -- Male or Female?

Here's a pic of my JD. Is it male or female? Do I need a pic of the fins/full body? I heard it's determined by coloring on the gill plate?

Females would have more spangles than that, females essentially have a blue beard covering the gill plates while makes only have a few.

I tend to agree that it is a male, all of the females that I have seen have waaaay more blue on the gills.

I'd say male as well, the females blue tends to run together instead of spread out.
