Everyone remember my thread Jack Dempsey not eating? Well today I noticed that its poop was very stringy. Hardly any substance to it... Anyways I need help, what I want to know is; Is this a parasite, what to do to treat it, getting it to eat again, and how to prevent something like this from happening again. Thanks in advance.

Stringy white poop is usually a sign of internal parasites. Any general parasite cure that works for internal parasites should do the trick.

I had the same issue with my flowerhorn awhile back. Mine was certainly the result of feeding unquarantined feeders.

Hope that helps and good luck.

If he is still eating you can put Metro into some frozen food and never feed him live food again.

I've been having the same problem with my pair of GT's for the past month. My Metronidazole told me that i could treat the water which didn't work at all and just gave them more time to to get sicker. They no longer will eat food so once a night a have to catch them each and squirt an epsom salt solution down each of their throats. I'm on the fifth night of this epsom salt treatment and am really hoping to see them eating and pooping normally soon. Good luck with yours!
