My JD must get hungry at night, well he always acts hungry. About a week ago I noticed one of my Buenos Aires tetras was missing part of its tail. It appears to be growing back ok, but I come downstairs this morning and now another BAT is missing part of its tail. I also noticed that the largest BAT had some marks on it but thought it was from another BAT fighting over food.

I guess I will have to enjoy the tetras while they last or maybe just get some larger dithers. The JD is only about 4.5-5" and all of the BAT's are between 2-3".

I'm going to get a dry erase marker and put a list of victims on the side of the tank. So far it includes a dragon goby (jumped), a giant danio (snack), a bichir, a firemouth, a convict (removed all 3), and 2 bat's.

The Buenos Aires tetras are total fin nippers with each other. I finally got tired of it in my tank and removed them as dithers. I started with 7 and ended up with 4. The tetras would munch the tail off usually one fish and then it would swim weird and trigger the kill/eat weak fish instinct in my midas. So expect to see your tetra numbers start to dwindle.

Would adding more help stop their nipping? I have 6 now.

Or I was thinking 3-5 Silver Dollars.
