So I'm getting a juvie Jack Dempsey(maybe two and a half inches). I have a 55 gallon set up.. but I have a very large kissing fish (around six inches) and bichir (around four and a half inches). Odd tank mates.. Trust me I know. Now my question is how well do you think they will all get along? I know Kissers are normally agressive and my bichir will go after only small fish, but my neighbors had small cichlids with those two and a large pacu for a while, and they all got along. Just wondering what everyone thinks on this and if they think it will work.

And if the doubt is high.. I can also set up my other 55 gallon. I only have like, five behind my shed. :D

I think you wouldnt have a problem right now,but a 55 is small for all of them together especially if you have more tanks on stand by! JD s get pretty big!just set up one of those other 55 s and throw in a pair of those dempseys....

Well I wouldn't want them all in there when the JD gets big anyway. Just tempoary since I'm getting the JD a lot sooner than I thought. And I figure three to four weeks and hopefully no casualties happen. Cross your fingers. Haha.

for a 55g I personly would not put any thing in there with him

I forgot to add this: He'd only be in there til I can get another 55 set up. Do you think all will be well in the tank for a month?
