Hey guys, I will probably sell my 300 to be able to go the size I really want, say 600 g's or so.. problem is, there is just no way in hell I can fit the 300, my 150 and a 600 in my apartment during the transfer period. In worst case this may take 2-3 months (remember this is a worst case scenario). tanks this size regularly do not sell at all in Sweden due to the lack of mfkers. Anyhow, I have a couple of interested people and I get the feeling it will actually sell pretty soon.

My stock is

23" TSN

24" Channa Marulioides

20" clown knife

19" endli

9" endlie

20/16/6" Plecos

4x8" Clown loaches

20/16" Ornate bichirs

14" Lima shovelnose

14" Channa aurantimaculata

14" Learius Marmoratus

Yes, this is alot of fish but and I'm the first to agree that big fish needs big tanks and that is what I'm trying to achieve here.

My plan is to temperarily put these guys in my 150 (5x2x2). For filtration I'm thinking

Eheim 2080proIII with only bio.

Rena xp3 for mech

Rena xp4 bio/mech

Eheim 2217 bio
Sump 30G with mainly bio but some mech, will be powered by a aqua clear 110 powerhead (about 1000G p/h turnover).

I also plan on a pretty thin feeding schedule for these guys while they are in there.

what do you think? I'm mainly interested in the opinions of those who have actually done this kind of things, not those who say it can't be done and never tried it!

bump!

i am doing this right now as well , my fish are at the petstore... then not being in my custody has give me more time to plan out what i really need to do. Less stress and easier to remove the tank , and bring a new one in. Only problem is i really miss my fish.

Your LFS should hold them for you

hahaha.. It doesnt really work that way over here.. the lfs' show tank is a 100 planted.. I could possibly get the biggest lfs' (the only pet store that specializes in fish in stockholm which is the capitol of sweden, just to put things in perspective) but he would charge me good money, say 2-300$ to hold them even though he would be the one getting more business simply because he is a shxxhole.

TTT

I would say it will work temporarily. With the filtration you have I would also add some very heavy airation. Lots of water changes will help also.

I would buy a cheap large holding tank......something opaque, and CHEAP....so you don't ming taking a loss on it when you sell it.....

I bet the aggression will get out of hand in the "small" tank, even for a short period....

If you do want to try the temporary small tank for a "short" period, I would be ready to move the big guys somewhere....just in case...you don't want to get stuck with serious fighting, and nowhere to separate them....

IME (big fish in small space = agression)

Good luck, that is quite a spectacular collection of fish you've got there....
