anyone know if my two jack dempseys bout 5 or so inchs would be alright with my oscar whos smaller in a 95 gal? on another thread i was told i should do it

i would said yes, but how small is your oscar. i have two oscars (8" and 6") and one 5" JD in a 90gl tank.

hes about 2 inches smaller then the female JD and shes the one whos mean not the big male. i have some live plants and some rock caves to hide in so i'll give it a shot. need the 45 for my piranha

dempseys and oscars make good tankmates generally, however, keep an eye on aggression due to tank size, and possible pairing up

I agree oscars and Dempseys make good tankmates... when kept at compatible sizes...

Are your Dempseys a pair? If so they may not appreciate the Oscar being around and they will be tough enough to kill it...

Oscars grow very quick so it may be worth waiting a month or two to let him get some size built up...

my tiger oscar and jd are always swiming together, never had a problem out of them two, just watch them close for a while.

Keep watching and FEEDING your O and he'll soon outgrow your JD's!
My O is not even a year old and passed the 10" mark allready!
