jd's and river rock

i have brown river rock in my 55 with a breeding pair of dempseys.they dig pits in it all the time

do you have the big river rocks? mine are pretty big. also can i mix pool sand with the river rock?

will be less likely to dig if they have caves or clay pots

plenty of good cover is a must w/ jds

no places to hide so they try to make places

plus w/ good cover options your jd will be more confidant
in the environment you provide

would it be ok to do river rock and pool sand mixed? i think it'd look cool, my river rock is black. but how would i use my python on it? just hover above so i dont suck sand in?

sand & river rock would look cool don't know how to clean it probably like you said hover the syphon

i use 2-3 inch polished black granite w/ small pool gravel looks good but bigger spaces for nasty to go
