After some pretty intense fighting that has left my convict with only a protion of her upper lip, my JD and Convict are getting along splendedly. In fact, they act like a mated pair; they cruise around together, never getting too far apart.

Question, can these two species cross? I wouldn't think so, but I'm wondering.

I don't think I want some mutt fish hanging around the house. Next thing you know they won't leave; start eating up all the food, and drinking all the beer.

Really, is it ethical to allow an unnatural cross-breed to get out? I may not be able to support that many fish in my tanks. I can't see selling them to a local fish store. Any Suggestions?

Some people believe it is unethical. I think its cool as long as you don't sell the fry because you want to try and avoid the mixed genes in the aquarium trade.

I have seen cons and JD's breed before. It is a cool looking fish.

Maybe I will look into another tank if they ever actually produce fry.

yeh but is it a male and female?? they definatley have hybrided before.

maybe do better in hybrid section?
