I bought this for my 150 gallon tank. It's listed at Max Flow 3170 GPH (12000 LPH) Max Head 15.7 ft. I've got about 4 foot of head and I am getting an actual 160 gallons per hour.
Can somebody tell me what I have done wrong? I need 4 to 10 times as much flow unless some other math is also wrong.
Thanks.

I have about the same head with multiple 90* turns out of my DC 12000 and although I havent conducted any math I am positive it is significantly more than what you are saying. 160 gph is what you would get out of a 1/4" line with moderate flow (what I use to fill up my tank after a water change).

Not trying to derail but interested. What is the equation?

There may be other ways.. but to figure it out I would get a gallon jug for each return line. During a water change when the water was low, with enough water in the sump, turn the pump on and see how quickly get to to one (or two if you have two returns) gallon. Time it with a stop watch. That will give you 1 (or 2 if you have two returns) in XX seconds. Let's say it took 5 seconds to fill up two gallons of water. 2 gallons / 5 second. 2 x60 seconds / min x 60 minutes per hour divided by the 5 seconds is 1440 gph.

That may not be so easy to do with a Jebao that doesn't start off at full speed...

I think the jebao pumps have a 10 min build up time or something like that. Your return lines should be 1" plus.
