jebao filters crud or ok stuff

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was told they are crud. I got one from the thrift store for a dollar but haven't used it yet.

they're ok if you're on a a really tight budget but I still wouldn't recommend anyone getting them. if you plan to stay in the hobby for long then just get a good brand canisters to save you from all the headaches.

The Jebao canister filters are ok, i currently have two 1200L/H jebao canister filters and they have been running for quite a while now, with no problems. Smaller jebao filters, example: sponge, power heads with sponges. Aren't good at all, and shouldn't be used.

I will say this and only this computer people will get it

Jebao is the same a lexmark prints, buy it and toss it out when done. As with Lexmark Jebao is priced to be a disposable product.

I have one running for more than 5 years now and one for over 2 years. Not a day of trouble and some of my fish keeping friends bought Fluval Series 4 and 5 that started leaking after being cleaned a couple of times because the rubber ring inside the filter head wouldn't seal properly, Eheims that lost flow rate because they were constantly clogged up, Tetratecs that started leaking and Eheims where the computer system packed up.
OK, the jebaos are not a wonder of mondern technology and you need to tilt them to one side to get the air trapped in the filter head out but I have been doing this with Eheim classics for 20 or so year. Oh yeah and they are still running. Sometimes it pays to keep it simple

Jebao is not Jebo. We are now discussing two different brands.

Who mentioned Jebo??

I have that exact canister filter. Its been running since February, I have yet to clean it, and there's been no noticeable loss of flow due to blockage. It primes and restarts very easily, and uses readily available Eheim media.

It may not have a huge flow rate, but it doesn't need it. I was using this filter (in addition to an AC70 and Penguin 350) on a stingray tank and had perfect water quality.

Oh! I misread the title. Wow. I need glasses. Full of strong drink.
