Anyone have any info on this pike. I can't seem to find anything about this fish. http://www.tangledupincichlids.com/images/cf.jegui.jpg

I would like to have one to put with my Red Devil and Dovii.

First and foremost, good luck finding one. They are not at all common and usually demand very high prices when they do show up.

Secondly, of all the pikes I have ever owned the jegui were by far and away the nastiest. I wouldn't expect them to coexist peacefully with anything... and that includes a dovii or Red Devil.

Other than that, they were easy enough to keep. Ate frozen food, didn't need special water requirements, etc. For the most part they're a fairly boring fish. They don't swim around much and just sit on the bottom until it is time to eat. Occasionally they will leave their cave to make sure their territory is clear but after a few minutes of scoping out the tank swim back to their lair to lie in wait for food.

Thanks for the info. Always seems to be my luck, rare, expensive, and nasty. Is there 1 that you could suggest that has some decent color, I like the red, greens, and blues and could get to 12" - 16"

don't know anything about jegui never kept or seen one

try a cobra pike or if you can find one theres a varrient of johanna thats blue but there pretty rare normal johanna have some red in them not much

Great pic and a great fish. I have actually caught these when they do have some color. When they are at the hight of their spawning season, mid-summer, the males will get a lemony color to the ventrum and the paired fins. This along with the very intense barring that's going on then makes them an almost attractive fish. Thanks again for sharing.
