Doey anybody have an experience with jelly fish aquariums?

From what I have read they are best reserved for advanced aquarists. they need special filtration because the intake of a standard filter will suck them up, the output of the filter current will push them to one side of the tank and they will also not get plankton delivered to them. Moon fish jellies, which are apparently, the most commonly kept also need a refrigeration unit because they come from deeper water. I feel a lot of this this could be true but I also think the company wants you to buy all their expensive equipment to go with the tank.

Sounds like quite the undertaking but it would be very cool, esp under a blue light. anybody know anything about it?

They only thing I've ever heard on jellyfish was a thread on here a couple of months ago.......

It can be done, but I'd imagine it is difficult. I toyed with the idea for a while but gave up for lack of funds. The problem is you need a special rounded tank that circulates water in a way that the jellyfish drift in a constant circle. If you are handy then you can build one yourself. I've seen designs online. Just do a search for diy jellyfish tank. On the other hand if you have the money you can just buy a tank designed for them. Also there are tropical species of jellies available that won't need a chiller. Just look around if you are serious about it. Hope this helps.

Did you check out the link in the banner that MFK is currently running? Sounds like they're peddling alot of crap to get you to buy THEIR stuff.

I started thinking about it after watching 7 pounds (will smith has a jelly fish tank in that movie if you haven't seen it) but never really followed up on researching it.

Good movie! I recall the nice tank setup and the bathtub seen.

except jellyfish have an extremely short life span and they're pretty expensive...

yeah, i think im gonna say say no with this idea. seems like it's too much work and too much money. it would be sweet and im sure the ladies would love it....especially if you had one at the foot of your bed but its too much of a pain.

I've heard somewhere you've gotta have a rounded tank with light currents pushing towards the middle because they can kill themselves crashing into the wall of tanks
