hi i went to my lfs today to by myself a pink convict but it ended up being a jellybean parrot i no nothign about these fsh he is about 2 inches long, how big do they get? can i put them with agresive cichilds? can it live in a 30 gallon with my 3 inch jd?

Go to the hybrid section thats not a true cichlid. It will probably die quickly because they are dyed and this greatly reduces their "life" span.

How did you know it is dyed? The OP didn't elaborate it is. Not all jellybean parrots are dyed. It is a cichlid no matter how you call it a "true" cichlid or "false" cichlid.

ok if it is not dyed then it is a so called parrot. to my understanding a parrot is a mix of a red devil and a severum. no i could be wrong and please correct me. so if it is wouldnt that be a hybrid. and yes there is a parrot cichlid and then the blood parrot it depends on the seller to to properly id.

if its a blood parrot which is possible, then the fish will do just fine with other cichlids my blood parrot is about 7 inches and he lives with two mated devils a 13 inch buttakofri a nine inch schnook and a nine inch dempsey in a 125 gallon tank and in my experience as long as their is refuge for the smaller fish than fights are pretty rare and minimized to stare downs....
