ok i saw today that 2 of my jewels were guarding a rock covered in their eggs... its a 30 gallon wit 4 jewels 3 peacock cichlids and a crayfish. not sure what species of peacock but they are grayish with white stipes and i tiny bit of yellow on their fins. what fish should i take out / how should i prepare this tank for me to have the most fry possible.

Thanks !

congrats on the eggs... keep us posted... I would first take out all of the others in the tank... Leave mom and dad... Im not sure what type of filtration you use but I would make sure that your little free swimmers dont get sucked up by your filter... good luck... post some pics of your peacock for the ID im not sure what you have there...

ok well i just left everything how it was because nothing could even get near the eggs with the parents guarding but that night im thinking the crayfish got the eggs :(
i then set up a 10 gallon for the parents it only took like a week and a half for her to lay more eggs, they hatched and are now wiggling , a few more days and they will be swimming. but they fell between the rocks and the parents cant get to them is that a problem ?? i mean once they start swiming around the tank the parents will round them up... also i have a whisper in tank filter should i put some foam in front of it so the fry dont get sucked up ?? Thanks and ill post a pic of the other cichlids for ID help
