FINALLLY!!!
when i came home from school this afternoon i was thrilled to see my female jewel laid eggs:WHOA: and now i have a few questions:

how do i know if their fertilized?
how long do they take to hatch?
and how many spawns do these fish tend to have through out their lives?

Congrats on your spawn I am assuming you have a pair of jewels it will take 3 to 5 days for the eggs to hatch. If the eggs are fertile they will turn a carmel color you may not raise many the first couple of spawns if the eggs are not fertile they will turn white. as for the number of spawns that is really hard to determine if you allow them to raise the fry maybe 3 spawns a year if you pull the fry or eggs maybe 12 spawns a year I am not excactly sure how long jewels live but I would venture a guess of at least 6 years. hope this helps and good luck they are pretty little fish.
