As soon as the fry are free swimming the parents will start flicking their pectoral fins and the fry will come to them. Its amazing to watch how they communicate.
I have always found jewels to be fantastic parents, I would not worry about removing them any time soon. When the fry are eating well and swimming pretty well you could probably remove them though.
Just make sure the fry cannot fit into the inlet to your filter. My jewels took the fry all over the tank to feed but failed to notice how they were being nailed by suction from the filter.
If you are concerned about the fry that are out of reach try using a syringe with a piece of air hose attached to suck them out and put them where the parents can get them, Just drill the hole in the front of the syringe a little bigger though. The parents do not like this though and will freak out and attack the syringe so I would rather leave them.
ENJOY!!!
