got a pair of jewel that just spawned and i have some free swimmers already
should i leave them with the parents or should i remove them?

I have a pair that have spawned and they are very good parents. Leave them be for now they should be fine.

If there are other tank mates, there could be problems with aggression as Jewels are great parents and very protective of their fry.

there are no other fish in the tank
now another problem arises
the parents are spawning again
do i remove the first batch of fries or not?

I would leave them in the tank and let natural selection take place, or find an outlet for the fry, or grow out in another tank to sell, because you will soon be over run with fry.

I had a very nice pair of Jewels alone in a 55 with fry. After about 4 weeks the male disappeared. Never found any sign of him. Apparently there can be issues when the males become poor parents.

and what if when natural selection takes place, there is no fry left at all?
