Jewel cichlid not eating and id needed.

i have recently bought a jewel cichlid the LFS said it was a red jewel and it was female so i brought it home and placed it in a tank 2 hours later the jewel hasn't even touched the floating pellets is something wrong i will upload pics as soon as possible

It's gonna take awhile for brand new fish get acclimated to a new tank. At the least a week, possibly more....

My experience exactly, but a word ofcaution.... once it does settle in, watch out. My jewel was the last fish introduced to an established 90 and is now back in the qt tank because it attacked everythng in sight, including me. Very challenging fish to keep and requires very tough tankmates and sometimes they isn't even enough. Pound for pound one of the most aggressive cichlids, in my exp. Beautiful fish though
